Aims/Goals for different major psoriasis projects[edit]

  • Exomearray: investigate the role of functional protein coding variation in psoriasis susceptibility
  • Target sequencing: to investigate and identify potential causal variants in known and potential psoriasis loci
  • Subphenotype (PsA, PsC, and controls) analysis: to investigate and examine the difference in genetic architecture between PsA and PsC
  • RNA-seq: to investigate the transcriptome for psoriatic skin samples and to identify potential novel transcripts that could play biologically important roles
  • Finemapping: to identify potential causal variants and to identify secondary signals within known psoriasis loci
  • 23andMe meta-analysis: to identify novel psoriasis loci through meta-analyzing different available datasets
  • eQTL study: to identify and investigate genetic variants associated with gene expression traits

Subjects[edit]

  • Cases in the case/control studies were clinically diagnosed to have psoriasis by dermatologist
  • Controls are subjects with no record of psoriasis
  • Psoriatic arthitis (PsA) cases are psoriatic patients with joint disease diagnosed by rheumatologist
  • Psoriatic cutaneous (PsC) cases are psoriatic patients have not been diagnosed to have joint disease in at least 10 years
